Ranch country
Lucerne Valley is a rural community of about 5,300 people (2020 Census) spread out along Highway 18 and Highway 247. The county plan describes homes on parcels from two and a half to 40 acres, with animals and horses common and several roads that turn to dirt.
The housing is older than in the towns down the hill. The median home was built in 1973, and about a quarter are mobile or manufactured homes (Census ACS 2024). Older carpet in a dusty place does best with regular deep cleaning instead of waiting until it looks gone.
Dust storms off the dry lake
Wind here is not a small thing. In March 2016, wind around 50 miles an hour lifted a dust storm off the dry lake that caused a pileup at Highway 18 and Rabbit Springs Road. Days like that push fine dust into every room. It settles in the carpet along the walls, the window tracks and the entry, and it turns the traffic paths gray.
Hot water extraction rinses that dust out of the base of the fibers, then we pull the water back out so the carpet dries in a few hours in the dry air.
Cold nights and frozen pipes
At 3,000 to 4,000 feet, Lucerne Valley winters drop below freezing at night, with snow some years. A frozen line in an older or manufactured home can soak a room quickly. Shut the water off and call. Our water extraction and drying work pulls the water out of carpet and pad first.
Getting out to you
From our base in Apple Valley it is about 14 miles to the Highway 18 and 247 junction, around 20 minutes. Homes farther out on Camp Rock Road, Tussing Ranch Road or Crystal Creek Road take longer, so give us your address when you book. Back toward town we also cover Apple Valley.

Lucerne Valley carpet cleaning questions
Do you come out to Lucerne Valley?
Yes. The middle of Lucerne Valley is about 20 minutes from our base in Apple Valley. Give us your address so we know the drive.
Can you clean carpet in a manufactured home?
Yes. We clean carpet, couches and rugs in manufactured and site-built homes.
Our carpet is full of dust from the last wind storm. Can it come out?
Most of it, yes. Hot water extraction rinses fine dust out of the base of the fibers, which a vacuum cannot reach.
Do you clean homes with horses and outdoor dogs?
Yes. Show us the paths and the spots that bother you most, and tell us about any pet accidents so we can treat them.
How long does carpet take to dry out here?
Usually a few hours. The dry air helps, and running a fan or the AC helps more.
A pipe froze and leaked. What do I do?
Shut off the water at the source, move things off the wet carpet and call (760) 948-7070. We pull the water out and set up drying.
Can you do tile and the couch in the same visit?
Yes. Grouping a few things into one visit makes the trip out cover everything you need.
