Tile & Grout Cleaning

Tile and grout cleaning across the High Desert that brings the grout back

Dark grout usually isn't ruined. It's dirt and grease that your mop has been pushing into the lines for years. Kount On Us cleans tile and grout for homes in Victorville, Apple Valley, Hesperia and the High Desert by scrubbing the grout lines and pulling the dirty water out, so it leaves with us. Most grout comes back a lot lighter, and you can walk on it the same day. Call (760) 948-7070 or text (760) 403-6890 for a free quote.

Where we clean tile and grout

  • Kitchen floors and backsplashes
  • Bathroom floors and showers
  • Entryways and hallways
  • Laundry rooms
  • Covered patios

Why grout turns dark

Grout is porous, kind of like a hard sponge. Every time you mop, some of the dirty water soaks in. Cooking grease, dust from outside and soap from the mop bucket all end up in those lines. A few years in, grout that started out light gray can look almost black.

A mop cleans the face of the tile. It can't reach what's soaked down into the grout. That takes scrubbing right on the lines and a rinse that pulls the dirty water back out.

Kitchens and entries get it worst

The grout in front of the stove, the sink and the fridge gets the most grease and spills, so it's usually the darkest in the house. Entry tile takes the dust and sand from outside, and it gets ground in every time someone walks through. If only part of your floor looks bad, it's almost always these spots. We give them extra time so the floor looks even when we're done.

Hard water and showers

Water out here is hard, and it shows in the shower. It leaves a chalky white film on tile and glass, and soap scum sticks right to it. If you want the shower done, mention it when you book so we plan the time. Heavy buildup can take more than one pass.

Do it with the carpet

A lot of High Desert homes have carpet in the bedrooms and tile everywhere else. We can do both on one visit. One customer said the carpet and tile looked brand new when we finished. Another said we explained the whole tile cleaning in detail before we started.

What to expect from tile and grout cleaning

Most grout comes back a lot lighter, often close to its original color. Grout that's stained deep, cracked or crumbling may not come all the way back, and cleaning won't fix chipped or worn tile. We look first and tell you what to expect.

Grout that's never been sealed picks up dirt again faster. Ask us whether sealing makes sense for your floor.

Keeping it clean

Sweep or vacuum before you mop so you're not just moving dust around. Use a cleaner made for tile, not a soap that leaves a film. Change the mop water often. Squeegee or wipe the shower after you use it to slow down hard water buildup.

How it works

  1. We look at the tile and grout and tell you what to expect.
  2. We apply a cleaner made for tile and grout.
  3. We scrub the grout lines.
  4. We rinse and extract so the dirty water leaves with us.

Questions

How much does tile and grout cleaning cost?

It depends on the square footage, the rooms, and whether showers are included. Send the quote form with the rooms you want done and we will give you a price before we start.

Will my grout look new?

Most grout comes back a lot lighter. Grout that is stained deep or damaged may not come all the way back, and we will tell you up front.

How soon can I walk on it?

Right away in socks, and normal use once it is dry, usually within an hour or two.

Do you clean showers?

Yes. Mention it when you book so we plan the time. Showers with heavy hard water buildup take longer than floors.

Do you seal grout?

Ask us when you book. Sealing helps clean grout stay clean longer, especially in kitchens and entries.

Can you clean natural stone like travertine?

Tell us what kind of stone it is when you book. Some stone reacts badly to certain cleaners, so we want to know before we come out.

Why does my grout get dirty again so fast?

Unsealed grout soaks up dirty mop water, and soap-based cleaners leave a film that grabs dirt. Sealing and a tile-safe cleaner help a lot.

Can you do tile and carpet the same day?

Yes. A lot of our tile jobs happen on the same visit as the carpet.
